WCCN Lecturer Publishes New Nursing Research The WCCN Library is pleased to celebrate the recent publication of research by Mellissa L. Arison, a lecturer at the Western Cape College of Nursing (WCCN). Her article, “Experiences of hospital-based nurses in delivering human immunodeficiency virus self-management discharge information in the Cape Metropole,” was published in Trends in Nursing on 22 September 2026. The study was co-authored by Regis R. Marie Modeste and Tendani Mabuda. The study explores the experiences of hospital-based nurses in providing HIV self-management information to patients at discharge. Effective discharge education can help people living with HIV better understand and manage their health after leaving the hospital. The findings highlight the important role nurses play in patient education and self-management support.
